Chalco reports higher aluminum output and sales in Q1-Q3

Aluminum Corporation of China Limited (Chalco) reported production of 12.57 million tonnes of metallurgical grade alumina and 3.25 million tonnes of chemical grade alumina for the first three quarters of 2024, up by 0.88% and 14.84% respectively from the prior year period, while sales of metallurgical grade alumina declined by 4.79% from a year ago to 4.77 million tonnes, according to the company's quarterly report.
From January to September, Chalco produced 5.62 million tonnes and sold 5.6 million tonnes of primary aluminum (including alloy), up by 14% and 13.36% respectively versus the same period of last year.
By the end of September, the company added more than 10 million tonnes of bauxite resources.
