Sunstone inks deal to supply prebaked anode to Alcoa

Sunstone Development Co., Ltd. has reached an agreement with Alcoa to supply a total of around 240,000 tonnes of prebaked anode to Alcoa's three subsidiaries in 2025, including 114,797 tonnes to Alcoa Canada Co., 106,000 tonnes to Aluminio Espanol, SLU., and 18,900 tonnes to Aluminerie de Becancour, Inc.
By the end of 2023, Alcoa had a nominal primary aluminum production capacity of 3.1 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa), and its own share of capacity reached 2.65Mtpa. The company produced about 2.1 million tonnes of primary aluminum in 2023.
