CMOC's TFM project reaches production and quality targets

As of June 30, the mixed ore production line in the east part of CMOC's TFM project achieved monthly copper cathode output of more than 18,000 tonnes for three months in a row, completing 105% of production target, and it also met production target for cobalt hydroxide with an average monthly output of more than 900 tonnes. In addition, the quality of the two products is both up to standard, with copper cathode reaching 99% HG+ST and cobalt hydroxide containing over 37% cobalt. As the east production line met production and quality targets as scheduled, it is now able to produce 200,000 tonnes of copper and 12,000 tonnes of cobalt annually.
TFM copper-cobalt mine is the biggest project invested by China in DRC with a total investment of USD2.51 billion. It consists of a 5.6Mtpa mixed ore production line and a 3.3Mtpa oxidized ore production line at the east region, and a 3.5Mtpa mixed ore production line at the central region, which already met the production target in August 2023.
So far, TFM mine has five production lines in total, with capacities reaching 450,000tpa of copper, which makes it one of the top five copper mines in the world.
