Zijin Mining reports copper resource increase of over 18 million tonnes

Zijin Mining reported a total copper resource increase of nearly 18.38 million tonnes from Julong copper mine in Tibet and Tongshan copper mine in Heilongjiang, with copper reserve increasing by 5.78 million tonnes, which amounts to 14.2% of the total copper reserve in China by the end of 2022.
The copper resource increase at Julong mine was around14.73 million tonnes and the total identified resources of copper reached 25.88 million tonnes to date at Julong, making it the largest copper mine in China. In addition, the increased resources also included 1.67 million tonnes of molybdenum at 0.019% Mo and 15,145 tonnes of silver at 1.68g/t Ag. In 2023, Julong mine achieved ore production of 31.27 million tonnes containing 154,400 tonnes of copper and 5,596 tonnes of molybdenum.
At Tongshan mine, the increased resources included 3.65 million tonnes of copper, 130,000 tonnes of molybdenum, 55 tonnes of gold and 1,104 tonnes of silver. In 2023, Tongshan mine produced around 110,000 tonnes of mined copper. The upgraded copper resources at Tongshan mine now reaches more than 5.6 million tonnes.
