Guizhou's latest round of mineral exploration achieves significant results

China's Guizhou province has achieved phenomenal results in its latest round of mineral exploration. As of May 2024, a total of 162 exploration projects were conducted and 69 prospecting targets were delineated, with new resources found including lithium ore, phosphorite, bauxite, gold, coal, lead-zinc ore, manganese ore, fluorite, rare earth, hematite, barite, etc.
During the mineral exploration, a large blind bauxite deposit with resources of more than 50 million tonnes was discovered in central Guizhou, a major breakthrough over the past three decades of bauxite prospecting. In the northwest of Guizhou, a high-grade lead-zinc deposit was found, which is rare in the province. Other highlights include the finding of lithium resources, which exceeded the total lithium resources detected during the last mineral exploration operation.
