NFC signs contract to build copper smelter in Kazakhstan

On June 3, China Nonferrous Metal Industry's Foreign Engineering and Construction Co., Ltd. (NFC) and its holding subsidiary NFC Kazakhstan LLP reached an agreement with KAZ Minerals Smelting LLP to build a smelter with copper production capacity of 300,000 tonnes per annum in Kazakhstan, and the VAT inclusive contract amount is around RMB1.41 billion (USD195 million).
According to the agreement, NFC is responsible for the design and procurement of the smelter project and NFC Kazakhstan is in charge of the construction of the project.
