Qinghai Yatai breaks ground on 100ktpa aluminum bar project

On May 9, Qinghai Yatai Light Alloy Technology Co., Ltd. held the groundbreaking ceremony for its 100,000tpa green powder high-end aluminum bar project at Minhe, Haidong.
Minhe county government introduced the project in July 2023 to extend local aluminum deep-processing industry chain based on the 450,000tpa primary aluminum production capacity from Qinghai West Hydropower Co., Ltd.
With a total investment of RMB450 million (USD62.28 million), the project has a planned land area of about RMB105Mu (7 hectares) and will build a production line capable of producing 100,000 tonnes per annum of aluminum cast bar, as well as factory, warehouse and other facilities and equipment, including 100 units of melting furnace, casting machine and homogenizing furnace.
When fully operational, the project is expected to achieve annual production value of over RMB2 billion (USD277 million), along with tax revenue of more than RMB20 million (USD2.77 million), and would help create nearly 100 jobs.
