BEIJING (Asian Metal) 1 May 24 - Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC suppliers keep their prices stable this week on weak demand and high prices of steel mills. The mainstream prices of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS remain at RMB14,600-14,650/t (USD2,016-2,022/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi now, and those of the materials from Yongjin Stainless stand at RMB14,550-14,600/t (USD2,009-2,016/t) D/P in warehouse Hangzhou, the same as those of last weekend. Insiders predict that Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices would lack momentum to go up in the coming week.
A distributor of 304 grade stainless CRC in Wuxi tells the price of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS stays at RMB14,600/t (USD2,016/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi without any concessions at present, unchanged from last Sunday. "We maintain the price stable this week because of customers' slow buying activities and high prices of steel mills," says the trader, adding that many customers still purchase materials from hand to mouth because of the coming May Day holiday and refuse to build large stockpiles. He sold about 10t on Tuesday at RMB14,600/t (USD2,016/t) and last sold about 10t last Sunday at the same price. The trader has no intention to adjust the price and predicts that Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices would lack momentum to rise after the holiday.
Based on the regular sales volume of about 3,000tpm, the trader sold around 3,000t in April and anticipates a stable sales amount this month. Having an inventory of about 1,000t in hand now, in line with last month, they sold around 35,000t last year and about 10,500t in Jan-Apr of 2024.
