BEIJING (Asian Metal) 30 Apr 24 - Owing to the slow sales and thin margin, Dashiqiao Gaozhuang Magnesite Materials Co., cut caustic calcined magnesia production this month, predicting a production volume of about 1,000t in April.
"We just resumed production in early March with two furnaces on, and have to cut production this month by 50% owing to the slow sales and thin margin," a source from the company revealed, adding that they predict to produce about 1,000t in April, halved from March.
With a production capacity of 400,000tpy, they produced around 50,000t in 2023. They predict to produce about 1,000t in April, halved from March. Now they hold around 1,000t in stock, unchanged from late March.
The current mainstream prices of Chinese caustic calcined magnesia 85%min 200mesh stand at RMB685-715/t (USD95-99/t) EXW D/A 180 days, up by RMB5/t (USD0.69/t) from late last week.
