The total number of manganese producers in China's "manganese triangle area" has decreased from 24 to just 3, with annual production capacity downsized from 590,000 tonnes to 180,000 tonnes, said a spokesman for the Ministry of Ecology and Environment at a press briefing on April 28.
The three manganese companies in the "Manganese Triangle", which refers to Huayuan County in Hunan, Songtao County in Guizhou, and Xiushan County in Chongqing, are taking measures to reduce pollution and advance green upgrade in manganese production.
