Benxi Shentie to increase S.G. cast iron output

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 29 Apr 24 - Benxi Shentie Iron (Group) Co., Ltd. (Benxi Shentie), one of the major S.G. cast iron producers in Liaoning, would increase the production to about 70,000t in April.
"We would expand the production of S.G. cast iron by about 10,000t MoM to around 70,000t this month due to increased orders," says a source of the company. According to him, they have an inventory of about 20,000t in hand now, up from around 10,000t last month.
With an annual production capacity of about 900,000t of S.G. cast iron, Benxi Shentie produced about 400,000t in 2023 and around 160,000t in the first quarter of this year.
The current mainstream prices of S.G. cast iron Q10 hover at RMB3,400-3,450/t (USD469-476/t) Inc-VAT EXW D/P in Benxi, up by RMB50/t (USD7/t) from last weekend. Insiders predict that Chinese S.G. cast iron prices would keep stable in the coming week on weak demand and high raw material prices.
