Panzhihua Gangcheng Group restarts rebar production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 29 Apr 24 - Panzhihua Gangcheng Iron and Steel Group Co. (Panzhihua Gangcheng Group), one of the major rebar producers in Sichuan, restarted the production on April 26th with a daily output of about 2,000t.
"We resumed the production on April 26th after the suspension last December for heating furnace maintenance," reveals a source of the company, adding that they might produce about 10,000t this month. In addition, they have zero stock in hand at present, unchanged from last month.
Based on the annual production capacity of around 800,000t of rebar, Panzhihua Gangcheng Group produced about 300,000t last year.
The present mainstream prices of rebar HRB400E Φ20-25mm stand at about RMB3,630/t (USD501/t) in Panzhihua, the same as those of last weekend. Insiders predict that Chinese rebar prices might slide slightly in the coming week on weak demand.
