Chinese recycled lead battery prices up

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 28 Apr 24 - Owing to tight supply, most Chinese suppliers raised their prices for recycled deep cycle battery. Mainstream prices for Chinese recycled deep cycle battery stand at RMB9,750-9,900/t (USD1,345-1,366/t) Ex-VAT delivered currently, up by about RMB20/t (USD2.76/t) from yesterday. Considering the supply shortage, insiders expect that prices for the material would go up further in the coming week.
A Hubei-based consumer purchased about 500t of recycled deep cycle battery at RMB9,800/t (USD1,352/t) Ex-VAT delivered today, but only purchased 200t at RMB9,720/t (USD1,341/t) yesterday when they originally intended to purchase more but failed finally as prices of other suppliers stood at a high level. The consumer said, "Due to tight supply, our suppliers raised their prices in the past week and prices for the material stand at RMB9,800-9,900/t (USD1,352-1,366/t) at present." The consumer expects that prices for recycled deep cycle battery would go up slightly in the coming week.
With an annual consumption capacity of 200,000t, the consumer expects to consume 15,000t in April, the same as March. They hold no stocks for the time being.
A consumer in Guangxi purchased 500t and 300t of recycled deep cycle battery at RMB9,850/t (USD1,359/t) Ex-VAT delivered and RMB9,680/t (USD1,336/t) today and yesterday respectively. "Owing to tight supply, we couldn't purchase recycled battery if we don't raise our purchasing price," the consumer disclosed, predicting that prices of Chinese recycled deep cycle battery would keep rising in the coming week.
With an annual consumption capacity of 100,000t, the consumer expects to consume 45,000t this month, unchanged MoM. They hold no stocks at the moment.
