South American tin concentrate suppliers hold bullish attitude to the market

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 26 Apr 24 - Driven by strong market demand during the past week, most suppliers of tin concentrate in South America hold optimistic attitudes to the market. The current mainstream prices of South American tin concentrate 65%min stand at USD29,700-29,800/metal ton FOB South America, up by USD700/metal ton from yesterday
"Although we barely hold stock for the time being, we still receive many inquiries every day. Thus, we hold bullish attitude to the market," an exporter in Bolivia reported. They quoted USD29,900/metal ton FOB South America for tin concentrate 68%min with no more concession today but failed to close any deal due to no goods. For the same reason, they would like to sell at around USD29,200/metal ton and refused any lower price yesterday but didn't conclude any deal. While they last sold about 20 metal tons at nearly USD30,000/metal ton last Thursday . Due to active market, they estimate that the mainstream prices of South American tin concentrate would go up in the upcoming days.
Based a regular monthly sales volume of around 60 metal tons, they predict to sell about 30 metal tons this month, in line with last month. Now they have no inventory.
Another producer in Brazil disclosed, "We increased the production this month due to active purchase from downstream clients. Given that the market keep strong demand, we hold positive view to the market prospect." They offered about USD29,800/metal ton FOB South America for tin concentrate 65%min without any concession today but closed any deal due to no goods. They could consider accepting the prices as low as USD29,100/metal ton yesterday if they have goods. While they last sold about 260 metal tons at nearly USD27,000/metal ton early this month . Stimulated by active purchases from downstream clients, they predict the mainstream prices of South American tin concentrate would move up next week.
The producer, with an annual production capacity of 3,000 metal tons, plans to produce about 300 metal tons in April, up by about 100 metal tons from last month. They produced about 2,000 metal tons in 2023 and around 800 metal tons this year to date, holding no inventory currently.
