Century Tsingshan Nickel completes maintenance of ferronickel production line

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 25 Apr 24 - Guangdong Century Tsingshan Nickel Industry Co., Ltd., one of major ferronickel 10%min producers in South China, resumed the operation of a ferronickel production line in early April, expecting that its output would be 18,000t or so during the month.
"The ferronickel production line was under maintenance in the whole year of 2023. The maintenance was completed in late March 2024, when the production line met all conditions about resuming production. We resumed the operation of the production line in early April, expecting that our output would be 18,000t or so during this month, higher than about 11,000t last month," a source from the company said, adding that they totally have three production lines in operation at present.
The company owns three ferronickel production lines with an annual production capacity of 240,000t in total. It produced about 134,000t in 2023 and about 33,000t in the first quarter of 2024, holding no ferronickel 10%min stocks at the moment.
Mainstream prices for high-grade ferronickel 10%min in the Chinese market stood at RMB950-970/mtu (USD131-134/mtu) this Wednesday, up by RMB10/mtu (USD1.38/mtu) from last Friday. Insiders expect that mainstream prices of Chinese high-grade ferronickel 10%min would rise in the coming week supported by continuous increase of stainless steel prices.
