Xintai resumed fused magnesia production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 22 Apr 24 - Dashiqiao Xintai Refractory Co., halted fused magnesia production in late January for the Spring Festival holiday, and resumed production in early April.
"We remained in suspension from late January to late March for the holiday, and just resumed production early this month," a source from the company revealed, adding that they only restarted 1 furnace due to the weak market demand, expecting an output of about 500t this month.
With a production capacity of 30,000t, they produced about 20,000t in 2023. They plan to produce about 500t in April, compared to around 1,000t in January. Now they hold about 500t in stock.
The current mainstream prices of Chinese fused magnesia 97%min 0-30mm Ca/Si=1min stand at RMB2,950-3,050/t (USD409-423/t) EXW D/A 180 days, up by about RMB50/t (USD7/t) a week ago.
