Versus halts production of zinc ingot

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Apr 24 - Versus Productos Industriales S.A., a zinc ingot and zinc die-casting alloy producer in Chile, halted production of zinc ingot in early April.
"We stopped production of zinc ingot 99.5%min early in April due to shortage of raw materials", a source from the company disclosed. They produced about 25t in March and plan to resume production at the end of May. They consume zinc slags as raw materials.
The company, with an annual production capacity of 500t of zinc ingot and zinc die-casting alloy zamak-5 respectively, would have no output of zinc ingot in April, down by about 25t from last month. They would produce about 25t of zamak-5 this month.
The current mainstream prices of zinc ingot 99.5%min stand at USD2630-2,640/t in Chile, up by about USD15/t from yesterday. Considering that most market participants hold positive attitudes, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of zinc ingot in Chile would edge up in the week to come.
