BEIJING (Asian Metal) 19 Apr 24 - Given the inactive buying interest from downstream consumers, Chinese ammonium metavanadate 99%min market prices see decreasing trend this week. The current mainstream prices stand at RMB72,000-74,000/t (USD9,951-10,227/t) EXW D/P, down by around RMB1,000/t (USD138/t) EXW D/P from last week. However, insiders forecast that the price would stay at this level in the following days.
A producer in Northeast China mentioned that their offer for ammonium metavanadate 99%min stays at RMB74,000/t (USD10,227/t) EXW D/P and refuse any lower counteroffer now. They last sold around 30t at RMB76,000/t (USD10,503/t) EXW D/P last week. "We sold around 30t two days ago at RMB74,000/t (USD10,227/t) EXW D/P due to financial pressure, and we would rather hold the stock than selling below RMB74,000/t (USD10,227/t) EXW D/P," complained the producer, who holds a wait-and-see attitude on market.
With an annual production capacity of 1,200t, he plans to produce around 100t in April, without much change from last month. The producer produced about 1,000t last year, holding around 100t inventory now.
Another producer in Southeast China claimed that they quote ammonium metavanadate 99%min at RMB74,000/t (USD10,227/t) EXW D/P and consider selling at RMB73,000/t (USD10,089/t) EXW D/P now. "We sold around 32t at RMB74,000/t (USD10,227/t) EXW D/P early this week while we refuse to sell below the price one week ago," noted the producer, who believes the price would keep in the upcoming week.
Based on an annual production capacity of 2,500t, the producer expects to produce around 200t in April. He produced about 150t in March and 2,000t last year. He has around 100t in stock now.
