Chinese ammonium metavanadate prices decline

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 17 Apr 24 - In view of consumers' low demand, Chinese ammonium metavanadate 98%min market prices see decreasing trend this week. The current mainstream prices stand at RMB70,000-72,000/t (USD9,670-9,946/t) EXW D/P, down by around RMB1,000/t (USD138/t) EXW D/P from last week. However, insiders forecast that the price would stay at this level in the upcoming days.
A producer in Shandong revealed that they quote ammonium metavanadate 98%min at RMB71,000/t (USD9,808/t) EXW D/P and consider selling at RMB70,500/t (USD9,739/t) EXW D/P now. "We sold around 30t to our regular consumer at RMB70,500/t (USD9,739/t) EXW D/P last week and we have no intention to lower prices further as our cost price is very close to RMB70,500/t (USD9,739/t) EXW D/P," mentioned the producer, who holds a bearish attitude on market price.
With an annual production capacity of 600t, they plan to produce about 50t in April, without much change from last month. The producer produced around 500tin total last year, holding about 10t in stock now.
Another producer in Hebei concluded that their offer for ammonium metavanadate 98%min still stands at RMB71,000/t (USD9,808/t) EXW D/P and they can accept RMB70,000/t (USD9,808/t) EXW D/P with regular consumers. "We sold around 30t at RMB71,000/t (USD9,808/t) EXW D/P last week and we have steady orders from very regular clients," noted the producer, who believes the price would remain stable in the upcoming week.
Based on an annual production capacity of 1,300t, the producer expects to produce about 100t this month, in line with last month. He produced around 1,000t last year, holding about 20t inventory now.
