Alufer Mining restarts bauxite loading

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 16 Apr 24 - Alufer Mining Limited, a major bauxite producer in Guinea, resumed bauxite loading from last Wednesday with present daily loading volume of around 10,000t, a source from the company reports to Asian Metal.
"We restarted loading bauxite from last Wednesday and could load around 10,000tpd now," says the source, who delivered close to 400,000t last month and manages to deliver over 300,000t this month. They once suspended bauxite loading in early April due to tight barges supply.
With the annual production capacity of 7 million tonnes, they plan to produce around 500,000t in April, similar to last month and hold no stock for sales now. They produced over 1 million tonnes during the first quarter of this year and around 4 million tonnes in total last year.
Present mainstream prices for Guinean bauxite Al2O3 45%min SiO2 3%max stand at USD70.5-72.5/dt CIF China, stable from one week ago. Due to the reduced bauxite supply from Guinea, bauxite prices would get support in the coming two weeks.
