Shanxi Jianbang Casting to expand S.G. cast iron production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 15 Apr 24 - As one of the major S.G. cast iron producers in Shanxi, Shanxi Jianbang Group Casting Co. (Shanxi Jianbang Casting) would expand the production to about 45,000t in April, said a source of the company.
"We plan to raise the output of S.G cast iron by about 8,000t MoM to around 45,000t this month," said the source, adding that they restarted the production of S.G cast iron on March 6th after the suspension in the middle of last December and produced about 37,000t in March. In addition, they have zero stock in hand now, unchanged from last month.
With an annual production capacity of about 550,000t for S.G. cast iron, Shanxi Jianbang Casting produced around 400,000t in 2023 and about 37,000t in the first quarter of this year.
The current mainstream prices of S.G. cast iron Q10 remain at RMB3,150-3,200/t (USD435-442/t) Inc-VAT EXW D/P in Linfen, similar to those of last week. Insiders expect Chinese S.G. cast iron prices to keep stable in the coming week on weak demand and firm raw material prices.
