Shandong Sunshine Casting restarts iron production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 12 Apr 24 - Shandong Sunshine Casting Industry Co. (Shandong Sunshine Casting), a major iron producer in Shandong, resumed the production early this month with a daily output of about 1,600t, said a source of the company.
"We restarted the production at the beginning of this month after the suspension in February," revealed the source, adding that they might produce about 40,000t this month. Besides, they have zero inventory in hand now, unchanged from last month.
Based on the annual production capacity of about 600,000t of iron, Shandong Sunshine Casting produced around 400,000t in 2023 and about 50,000t in Q1 of this year.
The present mainstream prices of cast iron Z18 hover at about RMB3,150/t (USD435/t) Inc-VAT EXW D/P in Jinan, the same as those of last week. Insiders predict that Chinese cast iron prices would remain stable in the coming week on soft demand and firm raw material prices.
