BEIJING (Asian Metal) 11 Apr 24 – Most recycled battery sellers raised prices early this week supported by tight supply. The current mainstream prices of Chinese recycled deep cycle battery stand at RMB9,480-9,630/t (USD1,308-1,328/t) Ex-vat delivered D/P, up by RMB30/t (USD4.1/t) from early last week. Despite tight supply, most buyers refuse higher prices due to limited profits. Therefore, insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese recycled deep cycle battery would keep firm in the coming week.
"We purchase about 400t of recycled deep cycle battery at RMB9,600/t (USD1,324/t) Ex-vat delivered D/P today, and purchased about 500t at the same price yesterday, but we could purchase at prices as high as RMB9,570/t (USD1,320/t) early last week", a consumer in Anhui note. They could purchase about 1,000tpd last month, and only could purchase about 400-500tpd at the moment. They would keep procurement prices of recycled deep cycle battery stable and predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese recycled deep cycle battery would keep firm in the coming week.
Based on a consumption capacity of 480,000tpy of recycled battery, the consumer would consume about 24,000t in April, down by about 8,000t from last month. They consumed about 88,000t in Q1 2024 and nearly 225,000t in 2023. They hold about 10,000t of stocks presently.
Another consumer in Guizhou mentions that they purchase about 300t of recycled deep cycle battery at RMB9,520/t (USD1,313/t) Ex-vat delivered D/P today and purchased about 300t at RMB9,520/t (USD1,313/t) yesterday. "We could purchase at prices no higher than RMB9,500/t (USD1,310/t) early last week, suppliers raise prices due to tight supply", notes the consumer, who anticipates that mainstream prices of Chinese recycled deep cycle battery would keep stable in the coming week.
