BEIJING (Asian Metal) 10 Apr 24 - Most producers sees no recovery of sales and still keep their prices stable this week. The current mainstream prices of Chinese flake graphite -190 stand at RMB2,300-2,400/t (USD319-333/t) EXW D/A 180 days, in line with last week
A producer in Heilongjiang refuses to sell flake graphite -190 at any price lower than RMB2,300/t (USD319/t) EXW D/A 180 days in the recent week. "We decided to resume production in late April, but now plan to postpone the resumption as we still have about 2,000t in stock and see slow sales," the producer disclosed, adding that they almost have no margin at the current price level. They last sold about 200t at RMB2,300/t (USD319/t) mid last week . Considering the extremely thin profit, the producer intends to keep their price firm and believes that the mainstream prices of Chinese flake graphite would keep stable in the coming week.
With a production capacity of 120,000tpy, they produced about 43,000t in 2023 and records no output so far in 2024. They hold about 2,000t in stock now, down by about 1,500t from a month ago.
Another producer in Heilongjiang, who also still keeps in suspension presently, holds their offer for flake graphite -190 firm at RMB2,300/t (USD319/t) EXW D/A 180 days with no counteroffer in the past week. "We sold about 200t in March and expect a similar sales volume in April, holding over 900t in stock now," the producer revealed, adding that they last sold about 60t at RMB2,300/t (USD319/t) early this month . Owing to the thin margin, they intend to keep their price unchanged for flat sales . They predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese flake graphite -190 would remain steady in the coming week.
