"We completed the installment of production line and begin the black silicon carbide processing about two weeks ago. We have an annual processing capacity of nearly 120,000t at the moment", a source from the company reveals, adding that they expect to produce about 3,000t this month.
With a production capacity of 40,000tpy, they produced about 40,000t in 2023 and expect to produce about same volume this year. Now they hold an inventory of over 10,000t at present.
The current mainstream prices of black silicon carbide 98%min 0-10mm Fe2O3 0.6%max free C 0.2%max stand at RMB6,500-6,800/t (USD915-957/t) EXW D/A 180 days in Gansu, on par with early this week . The market witnessed limited deals as the market demand stay weak . However, in view of the raised electricity charge, most producers prefer to firm prices and hold the view that the mainstream prices of Chinese black silicon carbide would keep steady in the following week.
