Linzhou Hexin Casting to cut S.G. cast iron production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 3 Apr 24 - Linzhou Hexin Casting Co. (Linzhou Hexin Casting), a major producer of S.G. cast iron in Henan, would reduce the output by about 4,000t MoM to around 45,000t this month, revealed a source of the company.
"Because of decreased orders, we might just produce about 45,000t of S.G. cast iron this month, down from around 49,000t in March," said the source, adding that they have zero stock in hand for the time being, down by about 6,000t MoM.
Based on the annual production capacity of about 600,000t, the company produced around 350,000t of S.G. cast iron in 2023 and about 61,000t in the first quarter of this year.
The current mainstream prices of S.G. cast iron Q10 stand at about RMB3,100-3,150/t (USD428-435/t) Inc-VAT EXW D/P in Anyang, down by RMB100/t (USD14/t) from last week. Insiders predict that Chinese S.G. cast iron prices would slip further in the coming week on soft demand and decreased raw material prices.
