BEIJING (Asian Metal) 21 Mar 24 – Most Chinese sellers of Kazakhstan ferrochrome lifted prices early this week following increased prices of purchasing prices from steel mills, but most buyers hold back from purchasing presently. The mainstream prices of Kazakhstan HC ferrochrome Cr 68%min in China stand at RMB9,800-10,000/t (USD1,359-1,387/t) EXW D/P, up by about RMB200/t (USD28/t) from early last week
A trader from Liaoning noted that they raised price of Kazakhstan HC ferrochrome Cr 68%min by about RMB200/t (USD28/t) to RMB10,000/t (USD1,387/t) EXW D/P without any concessions early this week. "Most buyers would like to purchase at RMB9,800/t (USD1,359/t) this week, but we refused them", said the trader, who sold about only 60t at RMB10,000/t (USD1,387/t) early this week, while they sold about 200t at RMB9,800/t (USD1,359/t) early last week . They predict that the mainstream prices of Kazakhstan HC ferrochrome in China would keep stable in the coming week.
With a regular monthly trading volume about 1,000t of Kazakhstan HC ferrochrome, the trader would sell about 1,000t in March, almost on par with last month. They hold about 700t of inventories presently, down by about 300t from late last month.
"We quoted RMB9,900/t (USD1,373/t) EXW D/P for Kazakhstan HC ferrochrome Cr 68%min today, up by about RMB200/t (USD28/t) from late last week", another trader in Shanghai noted. They did not close any deals so far this week and sold about 60t at RMB9,700/t (USD1,345/t) late last week . Despite most buyers hold back from purchasing at the moment, they would keep prices unchanged and anticipate that the mainstream prices of Kazakhstan HC ferrochrome in China would keep stable in the week to come.
The trader, on basis of a regular monthly trading volume about 500t of Kazakhstan HC ferrochrome, would sell about 500t in March, stable from last month. They hold about 500t of stocks at the moment.
