BEIJING (Asian Metal) 20 Mar 24 - Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC suppliers keep their prices stable at present because of customers' slow buying activities and high prices of steel mills. The mainstream prices of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from ZPSS stay at RMB14,250-14,300/t (USD1,980-1,986/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi at present, and those of the materials from Yongjin Stainless remain at RMB14,200-14,250/t (USD1,973-1,980/t) D/P in warehouse Hangzhou, similar to those of last Friday. Insiders predict that Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices would lack momentum to go up in the coming week.
A distributor of 304 grade stainless CRC in Wuxi told the price of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from ZPSS stands at RMB14,300/t (USD1,986/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi without any concessions for the time being, unchanged from last Friday. "We maintain the price stable this week after the decrease of about RMB300/t (USD42/t) last week," said the trader. According to him, seeing the continuous price decrease in previous two weeks, many customers prefer to take cautious attitudes towards the market and place orders sparingly at the moment. He sold about 10t early this week at RMB14,300/t (USD1,986/t) and last sold about 10t last Friday at the same price. The trader has no intention to adjust the price and predicts that Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices would remain stable in the coming week on weak demand and high prices of steel mills.
Based on the regular sales volume of about 2,000tpm, the trader just sold around 1,500t in February because of the Spring Festival holiday and expects the sales amount to rise to about 2,000t this month. Having a stockpile of about 1,500t in hand now, similar to that of last month, they sold around 23,000t last year and about 3,500t in Jan-Feb of 2024.
A Hangzhou-based 304 grade stainless CRC trader currently quotes RMB14,200/t (USD1,973/t) D/P in warehouse Hangzhou with no concessions for stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from Yongjin Stainless, the same as that of last Friday. "We also keep the price unchanged this week due to customers' slow purchasing activities and high prices of steel mills," explained the trader, who told that customers still purchase from hand to mouth and his sales performance remains unsatisfactory now. He sold about 10t on Tuesday at RMB14,200/t (USD1,973/t) and last sold about 10t last Friday at the same price. The trader plans to maintain the price unchanged and expects Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices to keep stable in the coming week.
