Henan expects nonferrous industry to peak carbon emissions by 2030

Henan has issued an action plan for peaking carbon emissions in the nonferrous metal industry. According to the action plan, Henan expects its recycled nonferrous metals production to exceed 4.95 million tonnes by 2025, with the nonferrous industrial structure and energy mix further optimized and the energy consumption and carbon emission of key products further reduced.
The plan also calls for a significantly larger share of clean energy used in the nonferrous industry by 2030, when a green, low-carbon and recycling industrial system will be basically established, to make sure aluminum, lead, zinc, copper and other nonferrous metals industries to peak carbon emissions by 2030.
