Jilin Carbon resumes normal graphite electrode production

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 14 Mar 24 - Jilin Carbon Co., a major graphite electrode producer in northeast China, restarted normal production from early this month and might produce 1,000t in March, a source from the company reported to Asian Metal.
"We resumed normal production from early this month and might produce 1,000t in March," said the source, adding that they produced around 500t in February due to the weak demand during the holiday.
With the annual production capacity of 60,000t, they produced around 20,000t in 2023 and over 2,000t so far this year, with present stocks around 6,000t.
Present mainstream prices for UHP graphite electrode D600mm in China keep at RMB16,200-16,700/t (USD2,252-2,322/t) EXW, stable from late last week. The purchase demand in China remains sluggish now.
