Jiaokou Wangzhuang Iron to increase cast iron output

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 13 Mar 24 - Jiaokou Wangzhuang Iron Co. (Jiaokou Wangzhuang Iron), a major cast iron producer in Shanxi, would raise the output to around 31,000t in March.
"We would expand the production by about 3,000t MoM to around 31,000t this month due to increased orders," said a source of the company. According to him, they have a stockpile of about 8,000t in hand now, up from around 5,000t in February.
Based on the annual production capacity of about 750,000t of cast iron, Jiaokou Wangzhuang Iron produced around 300,000t last year and about 58,000t in Jan-Feb of 2024.
The present mainstream prices of cast iron Z18 stand at about RMB3,400/t (USD474/t) EXW D/P in Lvliang, unchanged from last week. Insiders predict that Chinese cast iron prices would go down slightly in the coming week on soft demand and decreased raw material prices.
