Chinese recycled battery prices to edge down

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 7 Mar 24 – Most secondary lead ingot producers purchased from hand to mouth upon low operation rate. Insiders predict that the mainstream prices of Chinese recycled deep cycle battery would edge down in the coming tow days. The current mainstream prices of Chinese recycled deep cycle battery stand at RMB9,450-9,600/t (USD1,309-1,330/t) Ex-vat delivered D/P, stable from yesterday.
"We purchased about 10,000t of recycled deep cycle battery at RMB9,600/t (USD1,330/t) Ex-vat delivered D/P today, and we purchased about 5,000t at the same price yesterday", a consumer in Anhui noted. Given that most secondary lead ingot producers hold back from purchasing presently due to thin profits, they predict that the mainstream prices of recycled deep cycle battery would decrease by about RMB50/t (USD6.9/t) to about RMB9,550/t (USD1,323/t) tomorrow and they plan to purchase nearly 10,000t tomorrow.
With an annual consumption capacity of 640,000t of recycled battery, the consumer would consume about 30,000t in March, identical to last month. They consumed about 380,000t in 2023. They hold an inventory of about 10,000t presently.
