Fujian Liande carries out maintenance on ferronickel production equipment

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 6 Mar 24 - Fujian Liande Co., Ltd., one of major ferronickel producers in East China, started overhaul on one of its ferronickel production lines in early March, expecting to have an high-grade ferronickel 10%min output of around 12,000t in March.
"We suspended production of one ferronickel production line in early March for equipment maintenance. As it is overhaul-level maintenance, we expect the process to last for three months. Our ferronickel production in March is estimated to be around 12,000t, lower than around 16,000t in February," a source from the company said, adding that they have three production lines in operation now.
With an annual production capacity of 288,000t, the company has four production lines and holds no ferronickel stocks now.
On Tuesday, mainstream prices for Chinese high-grade ferronickel Ni 10%min S 0.45%max P 0.035%max stood at RMB960-980/mtu (USD133-136/mtu), unchanged from the previous trading day. Considering that this week downstream consumers take a wait-and-see attitude toward the high-grade ferronickel market and show low interest in making purchases, insiders believe that prices for Chinese high-grade ferronickel 10%min would remain relatively stable in the coming week.
