Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices decrease

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 6 Mar 24 - Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC suppliers reduced their prices this week dragged by customers' slow buying activities and the decrease in steel mills' EXW prices. The current mainstream prices of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS stand at RMB14,600-14,650/t (USD2,028-2,035/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi and RMB14,500-14,550/t (USD2,014-2,021/t) D/P in warehouse Tianjin respectively, down by RMB200/t (USD28/t) and RMB300/t (USD42/t) from last Friday. Insiders expect Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices to go down by another RMB100/t (USD14/t) in the coming week.
A Wuxi-based distributor of 304 grade stainless CRC told Asian Metal that the price of stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS hovers at RMB14,600/t (USD2,028/t) D/P in warehouse Wuxi with no concessions now, down by RMB200/t (USD28/t) from last Friday. "We reduced the price by RMB200/t (USD28/t) this week on weak demand and the decrease in steel mills' EXW prices after the total increase of RMB400/t (USD56/t) last week," explained the trader, adding that TTSS cut the EXW prices of 304 grade stainless CRC by RMB100/t (USD14/t) on March 5th. According to him, many customers just hold wait-and-see attitudes at the moment and his sales performance is poor. He sold about 10t on Tuesday at RMB14,600/t (USD2,028/t) and last sold around 15t last Friday at RMB14,800/t (USD2,056/t). The trader intends to decrease the price again and predicts that Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices would further slide by RMB100/t (USD14/t) in the coming week.
With the regular sales volume of about 3,000tpm, the company just sold around 2,000t last month and expects the sales amount to rise to about 3,000t this month. Having a stockpile of about 1,000t in hand now, up from around 800t last month, they sold around 35,000t in 2023 and about 4,500t in Jan-Feb of 2024.
Another trader of 304 grade stainless CRC in Tianjin quotes RMB14,500/t (USD2,014/t) D/P in warehouse Tianjin for stainless CRC 304/2B 2.0mm*1,219mm*C from TTSS without any concessions for the time being, down by RMB300/t (USD42/t) compared with that of last Friday. "We cut the price by RMB300/t (USD42/t) this week dragged by customers' slow buying activities and the decrease in steel mills' EXW prices," said the trader, adding that the demand from downstream industries failed to improve after the holiday and customers still purchased from hand to mouth. He sold about 10t this week at RMB14,500/t (USD2,014/t) and last sold around 10t last Friday at RMB14,800/t (USD2,056/t). The trader has the plan to further reduce the price and expects Chinese 304 grade stainless CRC prices to go down by another RMB100/t (USD14/t) in the coming week.
