Chinese cadmium ingot prices stable

BEIJING (Asian Metal) 5 Mar 24 - Most Chinese cadmium ingot 99.99%min suppliers held prices unchanged over the past week and the downstream held watchful attitudes. Currently, the mainstream prices of Chinese cadmium ingot 99.99%min stand at RMB31,100-31,600/t (USD1.96-1.99/lb) EXW D/P, in line with late last week. Market participants forecasted that the prevailing prices of Chinese cadmium ingot 99.99%min would remain stable in the upcoming days given that the downstream held wait-and-see attitudes.
A producer in South China disclosed that they could accept the price for cadmium ingot 99.99%min as low as RMB31,500/t (USD1.98/lb) EXW D/P presently, without much change from late last week. They last sold 33t at RMB31,500/t (USD1.98/lb) early last week. "We had no intention to lower our prices supported by limited stocks despite that most clients just inquired with watchful attitudes", said the producer. They forecasted that the mainstream prices of Chinese cadmium ingot 99.99%min would show a stable trend in the forthcoming week.
The producer, having a production capacity of 3,600tpy of cadmium ingot 99.99%min, produced about 100 in February and estimated the same output in March. They hold no stocks now, unchanged from the end of last month.
A consumer in South China mentioned that they that their regular suppliers quoted RMB31,200/t (USD1.97/lb) EXW D/P for cadmium ingot 99.99%min and refused to give any concession at present, in line with late last week. "We last purchased 66t at RMB32,000/t (USD2.02/lb) early last month", said the consumer. Given that they held enough stocks, they intended to watch the market and forecasted that the mainstream prices of Chinese cadmium ingot 99.99%min would go soft in the forthcoming week.
The consumer, with a consumption capacity of 4,000tpy of cadmium ingot 99.99%min, expected to consume about 200t this month, almost the same as last month. They hold around 100t of stocks presently, in line with late last month.
