Apalt reports fatal accident at aluminum bar production line

Three people were killed and two remain missing in an explosion happened on February 18 at an aluminum bar production line of Asia-Pacific Light Alloy (Nantong) Technology Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Jiangsu Asia-Pacific Light Alloy Technology Co., Ltd. (Apalt), with search and rescue operations underway, said Apalt in a statement.
Asia-Pacific Light Alloy (Nantong) Technology is mainly engaged in the manufacturing and sales of automotive aluminum extrusions. The company is currently out of operation and initial investigation suggested that the casting production line of phase one project was damaged, while the production lines for extruding, heat treatment and further processing and the phase two project remain intact.
