Over 2Mt of new reserves discovered at Huoshaoyun zinc-lead deposit

Xinjiang Geology and Mineral Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. announced increased investment of RMB18 million (USD2.53 million) in geological exploration of Huoshaoyun zinc-lead deposit in 2023 after setting a historic auction record for mining claims in China by winning the exploration right of the ten-million-tonne deposit early in the year.
By the end of 2023, over 2 million tonnes of zinc and lead reserves were newly discovered at Huoshaoyun zinc-lead deposit, amounting to three large-sized zinc deposits and one large-sized lead deposit. So far, Huoshaoyun deposit holds more than 2,100 million tonnes of zinc and lead in three mining claims, making it the world's sixth largest zinc-lead mine.
Located in Hetian, Huoshaoyun deposit holds the biggest proven zinc and lead resources in China at 4.6% Pb, 23.37% Zn and 27.97% Pb+Zn on average.
