BTR to build 50ktpa cathode materials project in Morocco

BTR New Material Group Co., Ltd. has announced a plan to develop a cathode materials project in Morocco, part of its strategic move to expand capacity of the key materials for lithium battery.
The company plans to sign an investment agreement, through its subsidiaries BTR (Jiangsu) New Material Technology Co., Ltd. and Bnuo International Holding PTE. Ltd, with the Kingdom of Morocco to invest no more than USD3.54 billion (USD498 million) in the proposed project with an annual production capacity of 50,000t of cathode materials.
Bnuo International plans to set up a Morocco-based unit to build a 50,000tpa cathode material plant at Tangier Tech City in the Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima region.
