Chaohu lightweight magnesium alloy project begins phase two construction

Baomak (Hefei) Technology Co., Ltd. kicked off the phase two construction of Chaohu lightweight magnesium alloy extrusion project on December 12.
The project includes a technical upgrade to a semi-continuous casting line and a 1320-ton extruder, as well as construction of a 2000-ton extruder and 4500-ton extruder. The project is expected to become fully operational in November 2024 and would produce 1,200t of semi-continuous cast alloy bar and 2,500t of extrusion profiles annually, including high-grade magnesium alloy cast bar, high precision profiles and other components and parts widely used in the fields such as rail transit, automobile and industrial engineering.
