Chaohu Yunhai realizes direct supply of molten magnesium for die casting

Chaohu Yunhai Magnesium Co., Ltd. has realized the direct supply of molten magnesium metal to Chaohu Yunhai Light Metals Precision Manufacturing Co., Ltd. for the die casting of magnesium templates, after nearly a year-long effort by Baowu Magnesium.
The direct supply system is the world's first fully automated system that uses siphon method to accurately control the liquid level and transportation volume of molten magnesium, which greatly shortens the process flow compared with conventional magnesium alloy smelting and die-casting process, and it can significantly reduce product costs, boost production efficiency and improve die-casting quality. The direct supply system also greatly improves the purity of the molten magnesium for die-casting, and the qualified rate of finished products is significantly improved.
Chaohu Precision's die casting project uses about 60,000t of molten magnesium alloy annually, and the direct supply system is expected to cut carbon dioxide emission by 69,000t per year, in line with China's "dual carbon" goals.
