China's State Council has issued the latest action plan for the continuous improvement of air quality
By 2025, short-process steelmaking should account for 15% of the total steel production, according to the plan.
The plan calls for a faster phase-out of outdated production facilities, including walking beam sintering furnace, pellet shaft furnace and semi-closed electric furnaces for production of silicomanganese, ferronickel, HC ferrochrome and HC ferromanganese.
It also set a target for non-fossil energy consumption to account for about 20% of total consumption by 2025, with electricity accounting for around 30% of total energy end-use consumption.
. Under the plan, China will resolutely curb the blind launch of high-energy-consuming, high-emission and low-level projects, insist on banning new steel capacity, speed up the elimination of obsolete capacity in key industries, as well as boost the development of new energy and clean energy.By 2025, short-process steelmaking should account for 15% of the total steel production, according to the plan.
