Yongchang Silicon to build 96ktpa industrial silicon metal project

Yunnan Yongchang Silicon Industry Co., Ltd. plans to build a 100,000tpa hydropower silicon project, according to the public disclosure of EIA report by the Department of Ecology and Environment of Yunnan Province.
The company plans to build six 33000kVA submerged arc furnaces, six heat recovery boilers, two 18MW condensing steam turbine power units and associated facilities. With a total investment of around RMB1.45 billion (USD203 million), the project has an annual production capacity of 96,000t of industrial silicon and 43,718t of silica fume as byproduct, and is scheduled to reach full capacity by the end of 2024.
