Binhai Energy announces RMB25.4 billion investment in PV industrial chain projects

Tianjin Binhai Energy & Development Co., Ltd. announced investment of nearly RMB25.4 billion (USD3.47 billion) in photovoltaic industrial chains projects, which will be built by two subsidiaries of the company.
On October 24, Baotou Xuyang New Energy Co., Ltd. reached an agreement with the management committee of Baotou Rare Earth High-Tech Industrial Development Zone to to build the 10GW solar panel and 5GW solar module project, with total investment estimated at RMB5 billion (USD683 million).
On the same day, Baotou Xuyang Silicon Materials Co, Ltd. signed an agreement with Tumid Youqi government to develop a project with annual production capacity of 150,000t of industrial silicon,120,000t of polysilicon, 40GW of monocrystalline silicon by crystal pulling and 40GW of monocrystalline silicon wafer, with an investment of around RMB20.4 billion (USD2.79 billion).
