Songtao advances 1Mtpa manganese residues hazard-free reutilization project

On October 20, Songtao Miao Autonomous County held a meeting to discuss high-quality development of the local manganese industry and control measures against manganese pollution.
Songtao aims to maximize benefits from the mining of mineral resources and advance the one million tonne per annum electrolytic manganese residues (EMR) hazard-free reutilization project developed by Guizhou Sanxiang Technology Co., Ltd. When in operation, the project is expected to process one million tonnes of electrolytic manganese residues annually to produce about 600,000t of binding material worth RMB27 million (USD3.69 million)
Songtao has the largest manganese carbonate ore resources in China and in Asia, with proven manganese ore reserves of nearly 740 million tonnes, which accounts for 38% of the national total, and the prospective reserves exceeds 1 billion tonnes. There are four recently discovered large deposits in Songtao with proven manganese ore resources of more than 100 million tonnes.
