China's Longling reports industrial silicon production of 98.4kt in first seven months

Longling county in China's Yunnan province had been advancing the development of green silicon product industrial chain over the years. By the end of 2022, the county had industrial silicon production capacity of 283,400tpa, including existing capacity of 175,000tpa, with another 108,400tpa under plan. The county has 19 silicon metal smelting furnaces, including eight 12500kVA furnaces, two 15000kVA furnaces, two 18000kVA furnaces, five 25500kVA furnaces and two 33000kVA furnaces.
In 2022, Longling produced 180,000t of silicon metal with an annual value of industrial output of RMB3.51 billion (USD480 million), accounting for 17.55% of the county's total value of industrial output by companies above designated size. In the first seven months of 2023, Longling's total silicon metal production was 98,400t, with an industrial output value of RMB1.51 billion (USD207 million), accounting for 15.1% of the county's total value of industrial output by companies above designated size during the period.
