Chinese mainland's H1 crude stainless steel production up by 8.22% YoY

In the first six months of 2023, Chinese mainland produced 17.59 million tonnes of crude stainless steel, up by 8.22% from the same period of last year, according to statistics from the Stainless Steel Council of China Iron and Steel Association (CSSC).
In the first half of this year, the output of Cr-Ni series stainless steel increased by 11.13% YoY to 8.85 million tonnes with the proportion up to 50.33%; that of Cr-Mn series stainless steel rose by 8.2% YoY to 5.39 million tonnes with the proportion unchanged at 30.65%; that of Cr series stainless steel increased by 0.89% YoY to 3.18 million tonnes with the proportion down to 18.07%; that of duplex stainless steel rose by 8.37% YoY to 168,517 tonnes.
During the first half, the apparent consumption of stainless steel was around 14.71 million tonnes, up by 5.74% from the prior year period.
