China's Zhengzhou releases five-year plan for mineral resources

On July 14, Zhengzhou government released the general plan for mineral resources for the 2021-2025 period. During the five-year period, the city will operate no more than 150 mines with the proportion of medium-to-large sized solid mineral mines higher than 40%. The minimum mining scale for newly built mines will be strictly enforced.
From 2021 to 2025, Zhengzhou expects to add bauxite resource of 20 million tonnes and coal resource of 6.5 million tonnes.
The minimum mining scale for newly-planned large, medium and small sized open-pit bauxite mines is 1,000,000tpy, 300,000tpy and 100,000tpy respectively, and that for underground bauxite mines is 1,000,000tpy, 300,000tpy and 300,000tpy respectively.
