CSI Solar to build PV industry chain project in Hohhot

CSI Solar plans to build a PV industry chain project in Hohhot in three phases, including phase one with annual capacity of 30GW of single crystal silicon rod, 80GW of crucible, 10GW of single crystal slice, 10GW of solar cell, 5GW of PV modules and 5GW of associated products, phase two with annual capacity of 25GW of single crystal silicon rod, 5GW of single crystal slice, 5GW of solar cells, 5GW of PV modules and 5GW of associated products, and phase three with annual capacity of 25GW of single crystal silicon rod, 5GW of single crystal slice, 5GW of solar cells, 120,000t of silicon metal and 100,000t of polysilicon.
The first phase of the project, with total investment of RMB18 billion (USD2.51 billion), is scheduled to begin construction of the single crystal silicon rod segment in July 2023 and reach full capacity in March 2024. The other segments of the projects are planned to break ground in September 2023 and become fully operational in September 2024. The second and third phase of the project will be launched later subject to the implementation of the first phase and the demand from PV market.
