Sichuan Shukuang's lithium battery recycling project to begin operation

Sichuan Shukuang Huanli Technology Co., Ltd. expects to put into operation the first phase of its 100,000tpa waste lithium battery recycling project in late July as the phase one is currently in commissioning stage.
With total investment of nearly RMB1.67 billion (USD233 million), the project will be developed in three phases. The first phase includes a 20,000tpa lithium battery recycling line with annual production capacity of 7,610t of nickel sulfate, 2,610t of cobalt sulfate, 1,645t of manganese sulfate and 1,277t of lithium carbonate. The company said its recycling technology can achieve recovery rates of 98% for nickel, cobalt and manganese and 90% for lithium.
