China's Huahong approved to raise RMB18 billion for capacity expansion via STAR

On May 17, China's Huanghong Semiconductor Co., Ltd. announced that it received approval for an IPO on STAR (Sci-Tech Innovation Board) to raise RMB18 billion (USD2.56 billion). The fund will be divided into RMB12.5 billion (USD1.78 billion), RMB2 billion (USD0.28 billion), RMB2.5 billion (USD0.36 billion) and RMB1 billion (USD0.14 billion) respectively for the Huahong Manufacturing (Wuxi) project, an 8-inch plant upgrading project, an outstanding technology innovation R&D project, as well as working capital.
Among them, the Huahong Manufacturing (Wuxi) project aims at a 12-inch outstanding processing production line to produce 83,000 pieces per month, the 8-inch plant upgrading project is designed to optimize some production lines in the plant and its power device processing platform production lines will be also improved.
So far, Huahong Group possesses three 8-inch wafer plants and one 12-inch wafer plant in total, of which the total capacity reached 324,000 pieces (8 inch Eq) per month by the end of 2022 and ranked second in mainland China.
